Today in history 9/25/1983. Paul Newman died from lung cancer, aged 83.
He was more than an a American actor and film director.
Newman was a avid race car driver, entrepreneur and philanthropist. Even today Newman's Own products pay 100% of net profits and royalties from their product sales go to charities around the world. I actually used Newman's Italian dressing on my salad today. Good stuff.
Paul Newman played Reggie Dunlop in the movie Slap Shot.
Binghamton & local hockey players from the AHL team "Broome Dusters" are intertwined in the story of the cult classic movie Slap Shot.
